Carmel Feast 2019
On the eve of foundation day of the Apostolic Carmel, Carmel Feast was celebrated on 15th July 2019 at the Department of Education, Patna Women’s College. The B.Ed. students of session 2018-20 participated in the programme.
The Apostolic Carmel is a Congregation of Sisters which was founded in Bayonne, France on 16th July 1868 by Mother Veronica of the Passion and established in India on 19th November 1870.
The Carmel Feast Programme was started with the lamp lighting ceremony in which the Principal Dr Sister M. Rashmi A.C. along with Sr. Saroj A.C., Superior, Carmel Vikas Convent and The Head and Dean of the Department, Dr Upasana Singh lit the lamp. The cultural programme started with a Prayer Dance ‘Sarva Mangal Deva’ in which the students presented their love and devotion towards God in a very elegant way. After this, a short skit was presented on the theme ‘History of the Origin of Carmel’ in which the students beautifully and graciously presented the steps and efforts taken by Mother Veronica in the establishment of Apostolic Carmel in India. It was followed by a melodious prayer song entitled ‘O Maa… O Maa…. Paawan Paawan Swarg ki Rani Kunwari’. The students also presented a joyful dance in which they depicted their devotion.
At the end of the programme, the Respected Principal Dr Sister M. Rashmi A.C. addressed the audience and wished all a very joyful and blessed feast. With her motivational and inspirational words, she encouraged the audience to follow the right path in achieving success in life. (Contributed by a second-year student)
